Daily Kitchen Cleaning Tasks

At the end of every day you should wipe down all surfaces, do the dishes, put dishes away and vacuum or sweep the floor. By cleaning daily you can prevent the buildup of any grime or germs on your counter, dishes and appliances.

Weekly Kitchen Cleaning Tasks

On a weekly basis, the daily tasks should be combined with mopping the kitchen floor.

Monthly Kitchen Cleaning Tasks

Each month you should clean your cabinets, pantry and refrigerator of unnecessary items, outdated food and miscellaneous items that are no longer needed.  While doing this, you should also wipe down these areas to ensure nothing spilled out of old containers. If you don’t wipe these areas down, your fridge could quickly become foul-smelling.

Yearly Kitchen Cleaning Tasks

Once per year you should give your kitchen a detailed or deep cleaning. This means that your cleaning should reach the back of every cabinet and pantry and under your appliances. Remove the shelves and drawers in the refrigerator interior for separate washing of each surface. Dust the ceiling, light fixtures and ceiling fan.
